I ran the Mount Loafer loop this morning, probably the last time I will run it now that the marathon is just around the corner. I felt really good this morning and I had the best time going up and coming down the canyon, I didn't go all the way to the gate I only wanted to do 6 miles this morning so once I hit my 3 mile mark I turned and ran back down. My splits going up, and keep in mind this canyon is pretty steep, went as follows; 9:13(151), 9:12(149), 9:34(160) this mile was the steepest. Usually these three miles are all over 10 minutes so I was very pleased with them, I then did 3 miles at marathon pace and those went as follows;8:05(136), 7:44(140), 7:30(151)  I felt like I was holding back on all of these so that was really cool. My hip felt really good going up and I could only feel it slightly on the way down, just enough to know it was there and considering how it felt yesterday this is a really good sign, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My average pace was 8:33 with my heart rate at 148 and total time was 52:24 I then finished up with some strength training on my upper body...

Thats about it for today, feel pretty good today so I will try and remember this one.

See ya tomorrow.

Nice run Clay. Glad to hear the hip continues to improve. You may be all nice and healed up by race day at this rate.

Sounds like a great run. Looks like everything is coming together at just the right time.
