I ran the Payson Park loop this morning via canal road, my calf was a little sore when I started but then on the second half of the run it seemed to feel better. My pace was way slow due to the 4 days of in-activity but I'm glad that I was able to get in a run I hope I can continue to push these last few month towards St George. My average pace was 8:55 with a total time of 1:03:59, after the run I did my upper body weight training and then I finished up with some push-ups. It has been a good start to the week!

See ya tomorrow.

Not a good day, I was only able to get to the stake center and I had to turn back to the house, my calf was really bad... Pretty depressed right now and down right disappointed, when I got back home I decided to try the elliptical so I ran on that for 2.10 miles and it seemed a little better so then I jumped on the treadmill for a mile but it was still painful, not as bad though, I couldn't do much more than I ran...  I really don't know what to do at this point, should I just forget about  St. George and let it heal and then start all over again, or should I just be done period!? I really don't know what to think, I can't do St George with no hill training it just doesn't work. I will ice this morning and then give it a try again tomorrow and see how it goes, but I am not to optimistic. This is same the injury as last year so who knows.

Later.

I decided to hit the elliptical after work and just do what I can do with my calf, I started out with 30 minutes on the elliptical and then went and ran a mile on the treadmill and then ran for 20 more minutes on the elliptical. I ran 5.25 miles in 50 minutes on the elliptical and then 1.25 miles on the treadmill. I finished up with some upper body weight training and then some push-ups. I will try and run Payson Canyon with the Gang tomorrow and see how my calf does, I had no pain while on the elliptical and then some pain when on the treadmill so I'll give it a try tomorrow on the road and see how I do. At least I know I can do the elliptical... Joel, my PT, gets back tomorrow and he said he can work on it on Friday so I'm hoping he can get it feeling better.

See ya tomorrow.

I was able to run Payson Canyon this morning with the gang, my calf did surprisingly well. It was a little sore at the beginning but it seemed the longer I went the better it seemed to feel so that was a pleasant surprise! I ran with Kim for some and then I ran the last half with Tom and Alan, I didn't push the pace but I had 6 miles that were 8 minute mile pace or less so that was a good thing. My average pace was 8:03 with a total time of 1:28:46, the goal is to get this were I'm averaging a 7:30 pace or better so I am real close. I really needed this run today and I almost didn't go because of the fear of my calf not being able to handle it but it did so that's one under my belt. I finished up with my Lower body weight training, squats, leg raises and calf raises.

See ya tomorrow.

I wasn't able to run much today because of my really bad quads that were hurting, they were pretty sore from the Payson canyon run on Thursday and I wasn't going to make it worse. Joel worked on my calf last night to and it was pretty tender and sore so I went conservative. 4.10 miles on the elliptical in 40 minutes, it took me a bit to get the legs so they would actually go a decent clip but then it seemed to get the old quads pretty loose, I'm hoping that I will be able to get back at it on Monday.

See Ya Monday.
