Just a nice little run out towards Payson Via canal road, my legs were pretty tired from laying around all day yesterday I have seemed to pick-up a little bug or something, not feeling real great. I do feel a little better today so I'm hoping by the weekend I'll be 100 percent. My average pace was 8:39 with a total time of 28:35, I did some stretching after the run. Taper time!

See ya tomorrow.

Late afternoon run out past the stake center, the legs are still feeling pretty darn heavy. Not a good sign, they should be recovering to the point that they are ready to go, not feeling the love in that regard. Took it real easy with an average pace of 8:49 with a total time of 26:45.

See ya tomorrow.

I ran past the old barn on Canal Road and my legs finally felt like they were recovering some!!! I really felt like I could go but I kept the pace real easy and just enjoyed the nice cool morning, it was beautiful!!! My average pace was 8:47 with a total time of 18:20. It looks like it will be cooling down as well down in SG so it should be comfortable Temps for the most part. We will be heading down in about an Hour so it should be a fun weekend.

My son Ethan Has Cross Country Regionals this saturday so I am kind of bummed about missing it but he was cool and just told me to run hard.:) This might be my last SG for the simple fact that it will conflict with cross country for the next 3 years and I don't want to miss out on any of it. I'll have to see...

See ya Saturday.

We made down to SG yesterday afternoon and now we are just going to be chilling at the Hotel for awhile, after a little bit I'll head over to the expo and pick up my bib and stuff. No running today, just going to take it easy.

Big day tomorrow.

I ran the ST. George Marathon this morning, I had 3 goals today the gold standard was BQ, the Silver was a sub 3:30 and then the bronze was a PR. It ended up being the bronze, but thats better than no medal at all. The weather was perfect with a slight tail wind at the start, it got a little warmer towards the end but way better than last year. I was doing really well and feeling really good until mile 17 , 18 and my old calf injury came back to haunt me... I had to stop a few times and have it worked on and it seemed to help get me through the rest of the race, and then I had to stop for a major potty break around mile 22 and that cost me some serious minutes.

Here are my splits:

Mile 1 7:57

Mile 2 8:25 had a potty break here.

Mile3 7:37 A little to fast on that one.

Mile 4 7:59

Mile 5 8:11

Mile 6 7:58

Mile 7 8:03

Mile 8 9:06 Veyo and I took it pretty easy which was the plan.

Mile 9 8:25

Mile 10 8:31

Mile 11 8:31

Mile 12 8:03 I was pretty Happy with this stretch as this is usually where I lose it but I felt really good.

Mile 13 7:55

Mile 14 8:19

Mile 15 7:37 Downhill and I probably went a little to fast on this one but still feeling pretty good.

Mile 16 7:55 Better pace here.

Mile 17 8:57 Calf started to flare up big time.

Mile 18 9:15 Calf ouch!

Mile 19 9:26 Calf.

Mile 20 8:53 Calf feeling a little better.

Mile 21 8:00 Trying to hang tough!

Mile 22 10:27 Major Potty Break, no choice here just really feeling bad!

Mile 23 8:34 Still trying to hang tough.

Mile 24 8:29 Hanging in there. Calf feeling better.

Mile 25 9:02 Stopped to text my wife, whichI will never do that again . Cost about a minute.

Mile 26 8:39 I realize here that I still have a chance to PR so I try to pick it up!

Last .20 2:17 7:49  Really giving it all I had to the finish.

It feels pretty good to PR for a change, but oh what could have been with a little more luck... But I'll take it and move on to a better day and keep after it.

Unofficial Time as I haven't checked the results but a 1:00 and plus PR according to my watch.

Now its  offical 3:42:18, I was off by one second.

I'm going to be taking some time off to recover from this Race probably a couple of weeks, or maybe more it depends on my body and mind, on the recovering part, HAHA!.

I'm feeling pretty good, just some soreness in my calf that I having been fighting and the darn thing almost did me in during the race. Quads feel pretty darn good this time and I think that has to do with all the downhill hill training that I was able to do so I think if I do SG next year then I will try and get my calf's stronger and then continue with more downhill and uphill training. We are heading down to Arizona to stay with My wife's sister for a few days, just to hang out by the pool and recoup and spend time with the family, should be a great time.

See ya Later.

Legs are feeling pretty dang good today and I even thought about running but I will hold off a while longer, my body really needs a break. Me and the Family are down in Queens Creek, Arizona staying with Family so I plan on rally taking it easy for this week!

See ya later.

I'm still in Arizona and I was feeling pretty good so I decided to go for a little shake out run just to see how my legs are recovering, I started out real easy and then as my legs got loosened up I just kinda of stayed with the pace that was comfortable. It was a beautiful morning for a run and I really enjoyed it... My calf was still a little stiff but not bad at all and by the end of the run I hardly noticed it, my quads were a little tight to begin with but by the end they were feeling pretty darn good too, so I have recovered way fast after this Marathon than I have the previous ones that I have ran. I think alot of that has to do with all the downhill training that I was able to do this time around so I think the goal is to get in some real good Payson canyon runs for each training cycle if its possible. My average pace was 9:06 with a total time of 21:14, just going to do some more RR down here in Queens Creek AZ with family and then we will be heading home on Sunday, its a nice place to recover after a marathon.

See ya later.

Still being lazy and taking it easy. The legs feel really good and have for the most part recovered. This is the best I have felt after a marathon ever! I could have started running last wednesday but I only ran once down in Arizona so I'm glad that I have recovered so quickly! My plan is to run some tomorrow and then gradually increase mileage as I go. I did get signed up for the runners series again but I don't know if I'm going to run SG again or not, with Ethan In cross country that time of the year I just don't want to miss anything. I will have to see how it goes and then go from there, I will run the races that I need to run to get in but I don't know after that. But, I reserve the right to change my mind:)! HAHA!

See ya tomorrow.

I ran out towards Payson this morning, man was it cooler than I'm use to but it felt good. My legs had a hard time adjusting to the colder weather but I like the change of seasons. My legs felt okay but not great, just a little hard to get going kind of thing but I haven't really run since the SGM other than a couple of miles so they were bound to be a little hesitant to want to go... My average pace was easy at 8:55 with a total time of 41:54, my back was a little sore still I mainly felt it after the run when I tried to do some stretching but it didn't bother me to much while I was running. I plan on running tomorrow I'm not sure how far I will go, I just need to play it by feel and not take it all to seriously. I will go for a full week of running next week though, I've had a good 2 weeks off and now its time to get at it again.

See ya tomorrow.

I ran out to Mini Gu via canal road and then back to the house, legs were totally beat and I had a hard time getting them to move,  it was mind over matter! They still must be recovering from the marathon, maybe the in-activity has hurt me a little bit too. My average pace was 9:04 with my total time at 55:00, I hope next week my legs are feeling better because its hard to get motivated with them feeling like this. It was a beautiful morning though, I love running this time of year.

See ya Monday.

I ran after work around five or so and boy was it windy! I headed out towards Payson via canal road but the pace was slow going out with a head wind but on the way back it was alot better with a tail wind. My average pace was 8:37 with a total time 46:54, my legs seemed to feel a little better today so I'm hoping that they are finally coming around.

I ran after work again today, I was able to get out around 5:30pm and I ran out to mini GU via canal road, pace for the most part was easy as my legs were not feeling it again for some reason. My average pace was 8:55 with a total time of 54:11, I hope my legs will come back soon they are really tired for some darn reason!

I ran after work again today, I was able to get out after 5:30pm again and it was such a beautiful day with the new snow on the mountains, I was glad that I was able to get out.  I ran out to mini gu and then back to the house, my average pace 8:37 with a total time of 52:24, the legs felt a little better today so that is a positive sign.

Ethan had a 5K at 8 am so the plan was to run after his race, I ran out to mini gu again and the legs felt like they were finally ready to go so I just let them do their thing. My avergae pace was up beat, atleast for me, at 8:18 and mile 3 was sub 8 minute mile (7:55) and my total time was 50:29. I felt pretty good throughout the whole run so that was a good thing, I think I might enter the SG Half in January I've ran it the last few years and it is always a fun event.

See ya Monday

I ran after work today and I ran the Payson Park loop but cut out the rollers, I warmed up with 3 miles and then on the way back to the house I did some Telephone strider's. Legs felt pretty darn good, my average pace was 8:30 with a total time of 53:03. I had a couple miles in the 8 minute range so I counted those as MP miles.
