DNF! Started cramping up at mile 10 and then bowed out on mile 16, I have never not completed a race before, but there was just no way that it was going to happen. My injury didn't really bother me but the lack of training the last couple of months sure took its toll... I don't know what the cramping was all about, I wasn't dehydrated at least it didn't seem that way, but at this point I really don't care. I will be taking a break from running the rest of this month and then I will re-evaluate and see where I go from there, my body really needs a good chance to heal up and then I  will see what I want to do after that... I am a little more bummed than I thought I would be, but I'm sure that will fade with time. I will be taking a break from the blog as well, but I will continue to check in on a few of you from time to time.

Take care.

I was feeling pretty good so I went out this afternoon and ran some miles. I had some pain in my left upper leg but my injury on the other side seems to have healed up. I ran real easy and just tried to feel things out to see how I'm doing, after returning home I hopped on the elliptical for 20 minutes and then did some stretching. The pain in my left leg was pretty sore but now that is the next day(Wednesday) the pain seems to have subsided so that is a good sign. I might try and run again today when I get home from work and give it another try and see how it does. If it continues to bother me then I will probably take some more time off before I get going again, but regardless  I plan on starting my strength training next week so I at least I feel like I'm doing something and not being a lazy butt;-)

See ya later.

I woke up at 7:30 and decided to get my butt out the door for a change. I ran 3.4 really easy miles (33:00) and then came home and jumped on the elliptical and did 30 Minutes on that and then did some stretching... My legs were lazy and achy during the run but then on the elliptical they felt a little better and then I decided to go through some of the leg strength training exercises that I will be starting on Monday, I just wanted to get a feel for what I want to do so I don't waste any time. I feel pretty good about the ones that I have picked and I am hoping they will help me get stronger in my legs, as far as running is concerned I will keep it light, like around 3 to 4 miles a day at a really slow pace and on days where I don't feel like running I will only do the elliptical, this is my plan through most of the winter. It felt good to actually do something today, it has been a long 3 weeks of laziness!

See ya on Monday.

I woke up this morning with a Migraine and it was having its way with me! I got all my gear on and headed out the door, I ran out towards Payson and the pace was very slow, my back was stiff and giving me problems and then there was the Migraine... I felt like I was seeing things it was so bad, very nauseated, but I kept on a pushing. Towards the end of my run I thought I saw Michelle and some blond freak walking, I couldn't tell if it was really them mainly cuz my eye sight isn't the best when its that dark and then there was the migraine, I didn't dare stop for fear that it may be a mountain lion and it would eat me, again the head thing was really freakin me out! 3 Miles running and then 35 minutes on the elliptical and then I finished up with some strength training on my upper half, I hope these headaches subside soon they have really been giving me some problems as of late.

See ya tomorrow.

20 Minutes Elliptical and the 3.25 miles on the treadmill in 31 minutes, I know really slow but right now its not about speed its about base mileage;-) I finished up with some strength training on my upper body, 2 sets of each exercise.

See ya tomorrow.

30 minutes on the elliptical and then 3.12 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes. I then did my strength training on my lower body, 2 sets of each exercise, I'm starting to sound like a broken record... I might try and go outside tomorrow for my run or I might just do the elliptical and call it a day, I'll have to see how I feel. The headaches have seemed to subsided so that is a good thing, now if I could just get rid of the extra 10 pound that I'm hauling around I would be a happy camper. I still have some pain on my right side in the upper hip and groin area but it doesn't seem to bother when I am on the elliptical and it is barley noticeable on the treadmill so I will just go with it for now.

See ya tomorrow.

I went outside and ran 6 miles via canal road towards mini GU corner and then once I returned home to my house I went out to the old barn and then back for another couple miles... Total time for the run was 55:18, just a nice easy pace (9:11 average)... After that I headed downstairs for 40 minutes on the elliptical and then I finished up with some strength training on my upper body and then some push-ups. While running the insides of my thighs were still achy but it was tolerable and then on the elliptical they felt better, no pain at all... I took yesterday off so I had a pretty good workout today and it felt pretty good, I'd still like to be pain free some day, maybe that will come down the road.

See ya tomorrow.
