Rest... Maybe the elliptical later today but I have a hard time getting motivated to do the elliptical at this point, I just don't know much good it will to me this close to the race. I will be running tomorrow morning to see how it does, the groin that is, and then hopefully I can get a better idea on how it is healing.

See ya tomorrow.

Clay, groin? Is it a hip flexor? Does it feel like hot coals when you run? Taking the three weeks off may be the best idea, and then run the marathon. I realize you were hoping for a BQ. But, maybe the time off will allow you to run and finish.

Crap Clay!! I am so sorry to hear about your injury and this close to the marathon. I am proud of you for resting and hope you feel better tomorrow!! Dang injuries!! Maybe you should rent an elliptical and bring it to St. George with you. Take it up to the start line, get on it for 30 mins and then get off and run the marathon?? Completely logical right?? I was just reading your posts and it sounds like it has a way of warming you up for running so I think it's what you should do :). JK. I will check in tomorrow and see you your 10 miler went. Good luck~

It helps, it slows the fitness loss by quite a bit. But it is so hard to cross train when you don't see an end in sight. My groin will hurt a bit when on the elliptical, but no pain for you?
