I did the Payson park loop except I stopped about a mile short of the park, I hope to incorporate that last mile into my Monday route here soon. My average pace was 8:56 with my heart rate average at 142, total time was 57:31. I felt pretty good today, my hip was a little sore but the pain subsided after I got warmed up, and it feels pretty good right now. My legs recovered nicely from the long run on Saturday so that was pretty cool, I hope that next week I an work in some interval training and maybe do some faster tempo miles but we will have to see...

I also did my standard weight training on the upper body 2 sets of each exercise and 12 reps in each set.

See ya tomorrow.

Clay, glad to see you got a nice long run in on saturday. Yes, cross training does make a big difference. I could easily run 15 right now if the knee would hold up. The real difference, nothing simulates running, the 15 would be at a slower pace. Also, as I noticed from your entry, your heart rate is likely 10 beats per minute higher that when you are in great shape, working harder to go slower, what the heck. Keep working. If you could find cross training that does not bother the hip, I would recommend a couple of good sessions per week right now.
