I ran out past Mini Gu and half way up GU and then back to the house via canal road, I felt pretty good and I had 2 MP miles in there which was fun. Mile 2 was 8:00 and then mile 4 was 7:54, they felt really easy and comfortable. A little cooler with the the snow but all the roads were clear and it was a nice run, my average pace was 8:22 with a total time of 1:00:16. I was glad to get a run in finally this week I really hate missing Monday's but some days it can't be helped.

I ran the payson park loop this afternoon, I went all the way to the park, I felt okay for the most part just kinda motored along and enjoyed the afternoon sun. My average pace was 8:34 with a total time of 1:01:29, another good run.

I ran to the base of Harry's hill and then ran to the top and then over to Woodland Hills drive, I ran down that to canal road and then back home. My goal was to push the up-hill and downhill to see where I'm at. I ran Harry's hill in a a 9 minute mile which is pushing it for me, it's a 12 percent grade or more, then I pushed the 2 downhill miles and those were 7:38, and 7:13. The first quick mile was a little up hill to but pretty good downhill the last little bit, the last one was mostly downhill and then when I got to the flat I slowed down, I just wanted to ran the downhill portions at a sub 7 minute pace and I was able to do that. The last mile was half downhill and half flat so that was a pretty good pace for me and I felt really good form wise and everything was just flowing really well. I'm pretty excited about my 10K in St George in a couple of weeks, I should be ready baring any set backs between now and then, It was a great workout and I'm really happy where I am at. My average pace 8:16 with a total time 52:42.

I ran out to my 5 mile mark down into the river bottoms and then back to the house via canal road, I felt pretty good at times and then tired at times but over all I felt okay so it was a positive run. My average pace was 8:32 with a total time of 1:26:06, the last mile my legs kinda went dead on me. usually I'm stronger at the end but I think my legs were still a little tired from my fast hill run on Thursday.

I ran out to the old blue Mailbox on canal road, just a timed run today and I wanted to go 40 minutes which I did. My average pace was 8:23 with a total time of 40:03, mission accomplished, I'll be doing more of these on Monday to break up the training a little bit. I felt great and it was a super nice day and I'm glad I was able to get out.

I ran to the high school and ran my wifes Cheerleaders for a mile and then ran back up to canal road then out past the stake Center and then back to the house, my average pace was 8:35 with a total time of 1:00:02. The last mile was pretty tough I ran into a head wind and it was a long mile fighting that darn head wind!

I ran out past the Stake Center and then towards Mini GU and then back to the house, pace was just so, so but it was a nice day. My average poace was 8:28 with a total time of 51:54, mile 5 was sub 8 minute mile (7:59) so I'm counting that as MP mile. I felt pretty good and I'm glad I was able to get out.

I ran to my 5 mile mark down in the river bottoms and then back to the house via canal road, I felt pretty good today and I think I need to start getting up early on saturdays as its starting to get warmer. My average pace was 8:25 with a total time of 1:24:49, I feel pretty darn good and I hope I have a good 10K race next Saturday.

I ran out to Payson Park and back via canal road, It was tough going on the way out as I had a head wind but then I did a little better on the inward half and had a negitive split. My average pace was 8:30 with a total time of 1:00:51, I had 2 MP miles in the middle 8:00, 7:52... I felt okay but not great, when I have ahead wind it just zaps me mentally I guess that is something that I need to work on.

I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night so I ran in the afternoon, I was pretty much in a fog the whole way but I still felt pretty good. My average pace was 8:29 with a total  time of 43:25, I will run 5 miles tomorrow and then probably 3 on Friday before I head down to St George.

I'm  pretty okay with my time. Went out way to fast and then just hung on. I'll do a race report later.

Average pace was 7:10.

 

Details.

Mile 1. 6:33 this mile was way to fast but I was just trying to get the legs moving and I didn't feel like I was over doing it much.

Mile 2 7:18 after the first mile I decided to pull this one back a bit but over compensated and I felt like it was to slow, there are a couple of small hills here but not that big of deal.

Mile 3 6:53 tried to push some on this mile because of mile 2, I still felt pretty good but knew at this point that I had gone out to fast.

Mile 4 7:15 I felt okay with this mile as it has some uphill in it, stayed with it pretty good.

Mile 5 7:27 I lost it on this one a little bit, mentally kind of zoned out, which cost me.

Mile 6 7:36  I'm still struggling here but trying to get the legs to move but its not happening.

.17   6:39 I still felt like I had a chance to get under 44 minutes so I picked it up here, but I missed figured the math and I should have picked up sooner, DANG!

I'm okay with this to some degree as I have improved over the last year where I thought I was getting slower, if I would have gone out a little more even then I would have probably had a better time... I think if I stay consistent and don't over train, which I have a tendency to do, then I have some good races ahead of me. I just have to get the mileage in and be a little more attentive when I am racing of my pace and have a little better strategy. It was a fun and I love doing this race every year.

I finally was able to get a run in this week! I went out to Mini Gu and then back to the house via canal road, felt pretty darn good and after a few miles I was able to get into a nice rhythm. My average pace was 8:21 with mile 4 around MP (8:00) with a total time of 50:42, it was nice to get out and it really helped clear my head.

It hasn't been a good week for training but I was able to get out today for a 10 miler, I ran out past Gu corner and down into the river bottoms. I felt pretty good on the way out but then on the way back it was a little tougher, miles 8 to 10 were like a death march, especially the last mile. I was thinking about going 12 miles but I listened to my body and stopped at 10.  I need to get back in to the training next week, the last two weeks I have gotten a little lazy, I need to start listening to my alarm and getting out in the mornings then I'm not trying to find time after work to get a run in. My average pace was 8:41 with a total time of 1:27:27, it was a beautiful morning weather wise and I'm glad I was able to get out.

I ran after work tonight, I have had a mild migraine today and I haven't' felt good at all but I was able to get home around 5 or so and I took some Tylenol and waited for a bit. I still didn't feel great so I just went for it, the first 3 miles were pretty rough but then on the way back I was able to get into a pretty good rhythm and I hit some MP miles on 4 and 5. I felt dizzy at times but I was able to get through it okay, my average pace was 8:36 with a total time of 53:31. It was sure a nice day out and it was hard not to enjoy the 70 degree temps!

Morning run today and I ran out past Mini Gu corner, the run was pretty rough just from the stand point that I had a late run yesterday and I don't think my legs had recovered enough. But, it was still a beautiful morning and I am so glad I was able to get out, my average pace was slow at 9:06 with a total time of 55:17. My goal is to start getting out in the mornings with it starting to warm up and its just a better time to get it done.
